Newman’s Corner

Gina was born and raised in Southern California and, consequently, is no stranger to fierce competition and knowing what it takes to stay on top of her game! After finishing high school, Gina competed in Club Volleyball on the collegiate level while attending the University of Oregon. Armed with a B.S. in Exercise and Movement Science, Gina continues to display her competitive drive and athletic prowess by completing both the Portland Marathon and the Vancouver Women's Triathlon.

Since 2000, Gina has partnered with the NIKE Sports Centers to create and maintain youth sports activities and camps at the World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. Her focus has been on children ages 3 to 12, encouraging and helping them to participate in activities including basketball and soccer basics, sports conditioning, fitness activities, and arts & crafts. In 2004, Gina created and directed a new summer sports camp for children ages 4 to 6, the success of which leaves the kids and their parents excited for next year. Gina finds excitement and fulfillment in the fact that she is helping shape America's youth.
