BASEBALL COACH - Greg Cero
The founder and owner of Mound Time Baseball, Greg was born and raised in Orange County, California. He is a 1999 alumni of Westview High School in Beaverton, Oregon where he played under Coach Jeff Shull. Greg was a member of the 1999 Westview team that was ranked #23 nationally by USA Today.
Greg began his college career at Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon. In two seasons, Linn-Benton had seven players go on to play professional baseball. In 2002, Greg transferred to NCAA Division II, Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. During his junior year in 2003, the team was ranked 2nd in a national poll. Greg had the most appearances as a pitcher in a two year span for Flagler College. In 2005, he received a degree in Sport Marketing from Flagler’s nationally renowned program. Greg went on to play professional baseball in Kalamazoo, Michigan and in Chicago, Illinois where he played under former big leaguer, Brent Bowers.
During his career, Greg played with former Westview star and 1st round draft pick of the Cleveland Indians, Trevor Crowe, and 7th round pick of the Colorado Rockies, Mike Davies. Before returning to Portland in 2005, Greg interned at the World Golf Hall of Fame in Florida.
